New Delhi: Australian-based lighting company Planet Lighting is set to illuminate the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024. The authorities contacted the company to install around 1800 LED lights forming an interactive lighting display.
Out of these 1800 LED lights, 800 have been placed in the village while another 800 have been placed on a ramp that connects the village with the main stadium. The rest 200 lights are spread across the venues. Furthermore, the authorities have said that the lights on the stadium walkway represent the 800 medals which will be distributed during the award ceremony. These lights will all have a QR code through which the fans can read the biography of their favourite medal winners upon scanning.
Olympic Authorities in Paris have further given assurance to the Parisians that this display will be installed permanently even after the conclusion of the Olympics. Seeing her company get such a golden opportunity to light up the Olympics, director Mia Iggulden was seen frolicking with joy.
However, Mia was quick to remark on the back-breaking job her team had to do given the huge security blockade in Paris. “The security measures on [the Olympic] site were very strict so we just made them here in Bellingen, shipped them off and [they’re] working perfectly.”

The Paris Olympics is set to start on the 26th of July and conclude on the 11th of August. Furthermore, the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics is scheduled to take place on the 26th of July at 8:24 pm (local time).
