New Delhi: Indian steeplechaser Avinash Sable looks to improve his position from Tokyo 20 as he looks to qualify for the knockout stages of the Paris 2024. With a timing of 8:15 minutes, the Indian athlete finished in the fifth position and thereby qualified for the knockout/medal races of the Paris Olympics 2024.

Sable’s performance at the Paris Olympics 2024 becomes the first Indian to reach the final of the Steeplechase event.

With Tomas Habarta of the Czech Republic pulling out of the race in the initial minutes of the race, the athletes were left with only 5 qualification spots out of the stipulated 6 spots. Below is the list of all the qualified athletes:
