Axar Patel interviews Suryakumar Yadav after win, Surya shares breathtaking pre-match story

New Delhi: BCCI shared a talk session between the two heroes of the India-Australia decider game, Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel. The cricketers talked about the feeling behind playing and winning the series for the national side. Suryakumar also shared an interesting pre-match story that earned him more respect from the Indian cricket fans.

During the talk, Axar Patel talked about how he feels good after performing well and winning the series for the team. He said, “When you do good for the team and you win the series, that is important and actually the feeling cannot be described but only felt.”

Then he went on to interview Suryakumar and said that when he woke up in the morning, there was chaos all around and everyone was talking about Surya waking up at 3 am. Then he asked Suryakumar about what happened last night. Surya laughed and replied, “Weather changed and this travelling again caused a stomach ache and also caught up fever. But at the same time, I knew that it was the decider game, so I told my doctor and physio, ‘ what if this was the World Cup finals?’ so I could not sit sick. So, I told them to give me whatever medicine or injection and get me ready for the game in the evening.” He added, “Once you come to the ground and wear the jersey then it is a different emotion.”

In the game, Suryakumar Yadav scored the match-winning 69 off just 36 balls while chasing 187. While Cameroon Green and company were striking against other bowlers, Axar Patel held the ground and delivered with 33/3 in his four overs. While Suryakumar was named the Player of the Match, Axar was named the Player of the Series for his eight wickets in three games.
