New Delhi: Bangladesh women’s cricket has announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. For the Tigeresses, the pivotal point in the attack will be the array of spin bowlers that are part of the traveling contingent. Nahida Akter, Shorna Akter, Rabeya, Sultana Khatun and Fahima Khatun form the backbone of spin bowling in the squad.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to take place in the UAE and as such Bangladesh’s spinners can prove to be a major obstacle in the path of other teams. Meanwhile, youngster Marufa Akter, Jahanara Alam, Mst. Ritu Moni and Sobhana Mostary are expected to shoulder the pace department.
Meanwhile, Nahida Akter, Shorna Akter, Rabeya, Sultana Khatun and Fahima Khatun are expected to form the backbone of spin bowling in the squad. However, there were many surprising misses from the side. In the list of absentees, the Bangladeshi side will be missing the experience of Rumana Ahmed.
Apart from Rubey Haider, Sharifa Khatun, Sabikun Nahar and Ishma Tanjim also joined the list of absentees along with Rumana. Bangladesh will play their opening match against Scotland in Sharjah on 3 October.
