BBL 13: Paul Walter’s heroics keeps Brisbane Heat at top, Renegades still in search of a win, check out the complete points table

Brisbane Heat continues their unbeaten run with their 6 wickets win over the Melbourne Renegades.

New Delhi: Australia’s Big Bash League, season 13, final four list has started to get interesting, as the teams at the top half of the points table are increasing the gap with those in the bottom half.

On Thursday, Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades came face-to-face with each other in match number 10 of the season, at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne.

Brisbane heat were looking to continue their winning streak, while Melbourne Renegades were in search of their first win of the season.

Brisbane Heat skipper Colin Munro won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Renegades had a forgettable start of their innings as they lost Quinton de Kock (0), and Joe Clark (7), very cheaply.

Jake Fraser-McGurk (55), added quick runs to rebuild the Renegades innings.

In the end, Jonathan Wells (34*) and Tom Rogers (20), played handy knocks to take the Renegades innings to 162 for 8, in 20 overs.

In bowling for Heats, Paul Walter took three wickets, while Spencer Johnson, Xavier Bartlett and Mitchell Swepson took one wicket each.

In reply, the start of the Brisbane Heat’s innings stumbled in the beginning, as they lost Josh Brown (14), Colin Munro (12) and Nathan McSweeney (9), inside the powerplay, to be reduced to 45 for 3.

However, Matt Renshaw (49*), first with Sam Billings (40), added 72 runs for the fourth wicket, and then added not-out 46 runs for the fifth wicket with Paul Walter (30*), to take the Heats home with six wickets and 11 balls to spare.


In bowling, for Renegades, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, took two wickets, while Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa, took one wicket each.

Paul Walter, for his all-round performance with bat and ball, was elected as the player of the match.
