New Delhi: Australia’s Big Bash League, season 13, is getting more intense day by day, as now the result of every match will start to have a long-lasting effect on the rest of the seasons of all the teams.

The race for the playoffs has started to take shape, as one-fourth of the tournament was completed on Friday.

Adelaide Strikers took on the Sydney Sixers in match number 11 of the season at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney, with the winning streak of both teams on the line.

Adelaide Strikers skipper Matthew Short won the toss and invited the Sixers to bat first.

Sixers had a fiery start as they added 39 runs in just 4.3 overs before losing their first wicket.

Strikers made a strong comeback by taking three quick wickets, to reduce the sixers to 40 for 3.

However, Jordan Silk (66*), with skipper Moises Henriques (23), added 66 runs for the fourth wicket to take control of the innings back.

Jack Edwards (12) and Joel Davis (10), then played short but impactful cameos to finish the Sixers’ innings on 155 for 7 in 20 overs.

In bowling for Strikers, Jamie Overton was the most successful bowler, with three wickets under his belt. Matthew Short took two wickets, while David Payne and James Bazley took one wicket each.

In reply, the Strikers lost Darcy Short (2) early, but skipper Matthew Short (55) and Chris Lynn (37), led the innings smartly, to give the Strikers an advantage in the match.

However, the Sixers made the comeback by drying out the runs in the last seven overs of the game and also taking wickets at regular intervals.

Strikers, despite Jamie Overton (31*), trying his best, fell one run short of the target, giving the Sixers their third straight win of the season.
