Chelsea’s coach Thomas Tuchel replies to Werner’s “could be happy everywhere” remark

Tuchel also added that he would be one of the happiest people on the planet if he gets a Chelsea contract.

New Delhi: Chelsea lost a friendly game against Charlotte FC and the head coach Thomas Tuchel seemed unhappy. He spoke about the poor performance by the club and also regarding the forward Timo Werner.

Speaking about the performance, Tuchel said that it took Chelsea half an hour to show some quality in the second half and that also lasted for about ten minutes. He was unhappy that the team could not convert the attacking chances. He added that the Blues gave two big chances in the first half, otherwise it was still a good game in all other aspects. Tuchel praised Chelsea’s new man Raheem Sterling as the second half saw four accelerations for Chelsea and all came from Sterling.

On Tim Werner not being in the squad for the friendly game, the head coach said that the forward had a hamstring issue. When Werner was questioned about his form and competition in the club, he said that he “could be happy everywhere.” Replying to this, Tuchel said, “I’m surprised, I would be very happy as a young guy having a contract at Chelsea Football Club.” Tuchel also added that he would be one of the happiest people on the planet if he gets a Chelsea contract. “If he said this, I do not understand,” the coach said.
