“Congratulations Arshad…Great picture! Sports unite Everyone” Harbhajan Singh remarks on the camaraderie of Arshad Nadeem & Neeraj Chopra

The camaraderie of Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem at the Paris Olympics 2024 has impressed former Indian off spinner Harbhajan Singh.

New Delhi: The camaraderie of Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem has impressed people far and wide cutting across national boundaries and sporting circles. Now, this friendship between the two javelin throwers seems to have generated interest from the former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Singh took to his social media and posted this on his X (formerly Twitter) handle:

Singh further added that everyone had seen the friendship and rapport between both the Olympic athletes. Harbhajan also acknowledged the power of sports which has a strange power of unifying people.

Talking about his playing days, the 44-year-old said that even in their heyday when Pakistan used to be a powerhouse of cricket there was a lot of amiability when it came to off the field bondings. On the other hand, on-field there was a great rivalry like any India-Pakistan contest has been.

In the concluding remarks, Harbhajan expressed vehement dissatisfaction with the entire fiasco surrounding Vinesh Phogat who was ruled out by the IOA after she was found overweight. Singh remarked, “It’s very disappointing to see Vinesh not being able to play the final…”

Nadeem’s golden steps in Paris 24!

Earlier, Arshad Nadeem became the first Olympic gold medalist from Pakistan in an individual event. The Pakistani javelin thrower was crowned the champion in the men’s javelin throw final after hurling the javelin to an unbelievable distance of 92.97.

In the process, Nadeem broke the Olympic record previously held by Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway (set at Beijing 2008). Neeraj Chopra followed Nadeem closely at 89.45m to win the silver medal. Although Neeraj did not win the gold medal, our golden boy has won the hearts of millions of viewers across the borders who have been united under the broader realm of sportsmanship.
