Cristiano Ronaldo reveals FIFA World Cup will not be his last international tournament

Ronaldo added that this World Cup will not be his last as he wants to play for Portugal at the European Championship.

New Delhi: Football star Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans are relieved as Portugal forward announced that the upcoming FIFA World Cup will not be his last international tournament as he wants to play at Euro 2024. Ronaldo will turn 39 next year and while people were expecting the World Cup to be his last competition in the Portugal jersey, he made it clear that he wants to play on at least till 2024.

The football legend made a statement while receiving an award at the Quinas de Ouro on September 20. He said, “I hope to be a part of the Federation for a few more years. I still feel motivated, my ambition is high.” He clearly stated, “My path in the national team is not over.” Ronaldo added that this World Cup will not be his last as he wants to play for Portugal at the European Championship. He also talked about having some quality youngsters in the team and is looking forward to winning an international cup.

Ronaldo won Euro 2016 with Portugal, which was his first major international victory. He also became the all-time leading international goalscorer after surpassing Iranian great Ali Daei’s tally of 109 goals in September 2021.
