New Delhi: In a heartwarming moment from the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the youngest member of the Indian contingent received an adorable hug from her opponent at the University Show Court.
14-year-old made an astonishing debut at CWG with a triumph of 3-0 over Jada Ross of St Vincent and the Grenadines on Day 1 of the women’s singles squash competition.
Apart from winning the Friday night match with a thumping score of 11-5, 11-2, 11-0, Singh also found her in the middle of talks for receiving a hug from Ross on the court.
The video has now gone viral on social media, wherein Jada Ross can be seen keeping a strong face despite a defeat, and walking over to Singh with a warm gesture and hugging her.

Anahat’s significant win has triggered nationwide reactions, with people showering love and praise on the young squash sensation.

Reacting to her major win, Singh said, “It’s my first senior tournament, so I didn’t really know what to expect, but I got more confident as the match went on. I had nothing to lose”, as quoted by news agency PTI.
