Warner on losing his cap

David Warner shared a video on his Instagram page, informing everyone about his iconic baggy green cap being stolen on January 2.

The video was captioned, “Hi all, this is my last resort, but my backpack, which contained my Baggy Green, has been taken from my luggage, which was transported to Melbourne airport and flown on @qantas to Sydney a few days ago. @qantas have said they checked their cameras and have not seen anyone open our bags and take the backpack, however they do have blind spots. If you are the person, who was either working for the company driving it to and from the airport or working for @qantas and have, by chance, just wanted the backpack, I have one for. I would be grateful if this were returned asap. Thanks.”

As soon as the video was posted, the local authorities and hotel management sped up their process to find the cap, as no one wanted their legend to bid farewell to test cricket without his iconic cap.

Warner’s retirement

The southpaw, who already announced the Sydney test to be his final test match, before the test match informed everyone that he will also be retiring from ODI cricket after this match, as he wants to spend more time with his family.

Although Warner kept the probability of one final dance in the ODI open, according to the Aussie legend, he will cooperate with the team during the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy if the team requires his assistance.
