FIFA World Cup 2022: Floating hotels to be new accommodation for fans in Qatar, check prices, facilities

There are 1.2 million people expected in Qatar during the World Cup and to deal with it, the organisers have recruited three cruise liners.

New Delhi: FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar is going to be a view with stadiums, cities and hotels. This year, Qatar will have floating hotels for the fans to stay in. While the hotels on land are expected to be full as there will be fans coming to the country from all around the globe, the management decided to go for cruise ships. Last month, the organisers made a deal with MSC Cruises and the third cruise is sailing to Doha for football fans.

The buzz around floating hotels during the Qatar World Cup began back in 2020 when it was expected that the organisers will come up with 16 such cruises. However, they have got three till now and have adequate space for the guests. The MSC World Europa has 22 floors and 2,626 cabins. It also offers entertainment through five new theatre performances, three concerts, Panorama Lounge and other live performances. The cruise also has swimming pools and a yacht club.

Another cruise MSC Opera with 1,075 cabins will also be part of the floating hotels. According to reports, the rooms on MSC Opera are expected to cost 320 Swiss francs (Rs 26209).

The World Cup will begin on November 20 and will go on till December 18. A total of 32 teams, including the defending champions France, are participating in the tournament.
