While Messi has a huge fan base across the globe, Mbappe is climbing the ladder of popularity.

Both Messi and Mbappe play for the French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and have scored five goals in this World Cup. However, Messi leads the standings with the number of assists. Both of them are not only clashing for the Golden Boot but also are the top contenders for the Golden Ball.

While talking to the press after the semi-final game between France and Morocco, Mbappe said that Ronaldo and Messi have to stop and the new generation will take the lead. He also said that he is going to win the Ballon d’Or this time.
