FIFA World Cup 2022: Messi misses training session ahead of finals due to fitness issue

New Delhi: Argentina is just a step away from the World Cup trophy and their captain Lionel Messi missed along with the probable starting line-up missed the practice session. The management is concerned about their fitness and thus the probable XI was given a rest day. Meanwhile, there is also a minor injury scare for Lionel Messi.
Messi was spotted standing aside during the 3-0 victory over Croatia in the semi-final as he suffered a blow to the left hamstring. There is no big scare as a bit of rest will do it for the 35-year-old forward. According to reports, Messi is experiencing some discomfort with the left hamstring but is match-fit for the finals against France. After the game against Croatia, Messi opened up about the injury and said that he is feeling good and strong enough to play.
The nation is looking at Messi going in his last World Cup game to end the 30-year drought for the title. His fans all across the globe are rooting for him to lift the World Cup trophy as well as the Golden Boot.

In the semi-finals, Messi scored a goal off a penalty and assisted Julian Alvarez in the third goal. Alvarez showed class with a spectacular second goal and with his two goals, ensured a 3-0 win to book a spot in the finals.
In the finals, Messi’s PSG mate Mbappe awaits him as both are leading the race for the Golden Boot with five goals each. The defending champions will clash against Argentina on Sunday at 8:30 pm IST.
