New Delhi: In the game between Argentina and Poland, the Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny managed to save a penalty off Lionel Messi which was a moment of joy for him and the Poland fans. Meanwhile, there was something else that went behind that penalty which Szczesny told after the game. Actually, Messi and Szczesny had a bet on will it be a penalty or not.
After the match, Szczesny opened up and told that he bet 100 Euros with Messi and said that it would not be a penalty, but eventually he lost the bet. He also shared a laugh with the journalist and said that he does not know if he is allowed to bet money during the game. He acknowledges that he could be banned for it but he does not care now. He also said that he would not be paying the money as Messi also does not care about 100 Euros, he has a lot more than that. It was a controversial penalty given by the referee after checking from the VAR. Football fans and experts are divided on it.

Though the goalkeeper lost the bet, he managed to save the penalty off one of the best strikers of the ball in the world. Even he acknowledged that to save Messi’s penalty, one needs a bit of luck along with skills.
