New Delhi: Kevin Pieterson, a retired cricketer of England, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sending a greeting letter on Republic Day. Pietersen took to his social media accounts to reply to PM Modi on Friday. In his reply, he also expressed his wish to meet PM Modi in person soon.
Happy Republic Day to all Indians for a couple days ago. A proud country & a powerhouse globally!

Pieterson wrote, ”Dear, Narendra Modi, Thank you so much for the incredibly kind words in your letter to me. Ever since stepping foot in India in 2003, I’ve grown more in love with your country on every visit.”

He further said in his tweet that he was recently a question — ‘’What do you most like about India’’? He replied to the question, ‘’The People.’’
He also thanked India for being ”a global leader in protecting its wildlife!”.
In his letter to Kevin Pieterson, PM Modi conveyed Republic Day greetings to him. ”I also immensely enjoy going through your tweets in Hindi,” added PM Modi.
PM Modi also writes to cricketer Chris Gayle, Jonty Rhodes
In a similar wish to Pieterson, PM Modi greeted former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes. PM Modi called Rhodes ”a special ambassador of the strong relations between our nations.”
Jonty Rhodes replied to PM Modi on the same day writing, ”My whole family celebrates Republic Day with all of India.”

Meanwhile, West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle also received PM Modi’s letter. Wishing him happy Republic Day, PM Modi said, ”It is heartening to know that you also understand Hindi and Punjabi.”
