Former ICC elite umpire Asad Rauf says ‘no more interested in Cricket’; runs clothes and shoes shop in Pakistan

Who is former ICC elite umpire Asad Rauf? Here is what he is doing at present.

New Delhi: Former ICC elite umpire Asad Rauf, who have umpired in over 170 games from 2000 to 2013, now sells clothes and shoes in a shop in Pakistan.

According to reports, it is said that he is not interested in cricket any more so he is selling clothes and shoes for his staff and not for himself.

Not to forget that the umpire was banned by the BCCI in 2016 after he was found guilty of corrupt practices and for causing disruption in the game.

Also, he was  accused of accepting gifts from bookies and was also allegedly involved in the 2013 IPL spot fixing scandal.

In an interview to Paktv.tv, he said that ‘I have not been in touch with cricket since 2013, because when I leave something I leave it completely.’

When asked about selling clothes and shoes, he said that this is not his job but he is just doing it for the daily wages of his staff.

Out of the 170 games he has umpired in 49 Tests, 98 ODIs and 23 T20Is.

He further said that he has a habit of reaching peak of all the things that he does. For example, he started as a shopkeeper and he reached to the peak, he played cricket where he reached the peak, he started out as an umpire, there also he reached to the peak.

Rauf further said that he has seen a lot of money and he no greed.
