Former Pakistani batsman Ramiz Raza questions shan masood’s incompetency in the first test against Bangladesh

Former Pakistani batsman Ramiz Raja has openly criticised Shan Masood’s captaincy and the national team for the loss against Bangladesh in the first test.

New Delhi: Pakistan slumped to a disastrous test loss in front of a packed Pindi crowd. This disastrous first test has led to a huge backlash from various corners of Pakistani cricket which includes the former Pakistani batsman Ramiz Raja. Raja pointed out a list of mistakes which the team, captain and the entire support staff made which ensured the disastrous loss.

To start with Raja pointed out that going without a spinner in the lineup was stupidity given that the pitch would have been conducive for the spinners. Next in the line of questioning were the fast bowlers who had a reputation for taking wickets at will in their home conditions. But that same bowling attack has come under crossfire as it conceded 565 runs in the first innings.

Ramiz Raja further added that the Pakistani bowlers have lost the edge that they had previously in their bowling. Comparing the bowling of both sides, Raja concluded that Bangladesh had a better bowling attack than Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistan lacked an out-and-out fast bowler which tilted the match in favour of Bangladesh who chipped in with a relatively lower pace of around 135 kmph.

Raja’s blade does not spare Shan Masood as well!

Ramiz Raja was also critical of Shan Masood’s captaincy as well as his batting display in the 1st Test Match. Speaking about Masood, Ramiz was very vocal and critical about his performance throughout the test as well as his past performances.

Shan Masood is currently on a losing streak. I felt, in Australian conditions things are tougher and the Pakistan team couldn’t win a series there. But you are now losing in home conditions, against a team like Bangladesh, because you did not read the conditions well.

Ramiz’s final criticism came for the batters who had let down in the second innings. On a spinning track, the Pakistani batsmen came dancing out of their crease to get easy stump outs. The batsmen’s failure in the second innings meant a small total for the Bangladeshi batsmen who chased down the total with ease.
