‘Fortunately it was six…’: Axar Patel dedicates one-handed six to Rishabh Pant, talks about meeting him in dressing room (WATCH)

While DC lost the game, vice-captain Axar Patel scored 36 off 22 and even hit a Pant-like one-handed six.

New Delhi: Delhi Capitals played Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and the game was even more special as Rishabh Pant made his first public appearance after the accident as he came to the stadium to watch his team play. While DC lost the game, vice-captain Axar Patel scored 36 off 22 and even hit a Pant-like one-handed six. In an interview shared by Delhi Capitals, Patel dedicated the six to Pant.

He said that he did not plan to hit a one-handed six but his hand slipped and it went for a six. He revealed that he told Rishabh after the game that the one-handed shot was for him. Joking about the shot, he said that he was fortunate that the ball went for a six, otherwise, the interviewee would have said that he was trying to be a cheap copy of his friend.

Talking about Pant, Axar said that he came to meet the team in the dressing room and everyone was charged up despite the loss. He mentioned that even Rahul Tewatia and Shubman Gill from the Titans also came there to meet him. Patel said that he hopes Rishabh recovers soon and they hit one-handed sixes together.

About the game, the all-rounder said that the fans enjoyed the game and his cameo as DC played at their home ground after 3-4 years.
