Pandya in headlines despite being side-lined

Hardik Pandya, despite being side-lined for almost four months now, has continued to be in headlines, as he was first drafted from Gujrat Titans to Mumbai Indians, despite being the skipper of the former, and on top, he was handed the Mumbai Indians captaincy by the MI management, after sacking their most successful captain Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma captained the Mumbai Indians side for ten years and led them to five IPL and one Champions League T20 title.

The captaincy move from Mumbai Indians was heavily criticised by the fans and was even unfollowed on social media accounts by a number of fans.

However, Hardik Pandya, who captained the Gujrat Titans side for two years, led them to back-to-back finals while also winning one.

Pandya almost defended the titles in 2023 before Ravindra Jadeja’s heroics took CSK over the line to give them their fifth IPL trophy.

Netizens target Pandya after Shivam Dube’s heroics

The left-handed all-rounder Shivam Dube, who was given a place in the playing XI against Afghanistan in the ongoing T20I series in the absence of Hardik Pandya, has taken the world by storm by scoring back-to-back fifties and also picking up wickets in both the games.

Netizens are now calling out Pandya, saying his time in the team might just be over as Shivam Dube is now going to be their preferred all-rounder going into the ICC T20I World Cup later this year.
