IPL 2022: Meet 5 players who have set their base prices too high for auction

The mega auction to buy the best cricket players in the team for the 15th season of IPL Auction 2022 is all set to start on February 12, 2022.

New Delhi: The mega auction to buy the best cricket players in the team for the 15th season of IPL Auction 2022 is all set to start on February 12, 2022, for two days. Before the event, many players have announced their base price for the auction.

In the auction, 590 players will participate, including the winners of the recent  U19 World Cup. Out of the total 590 players, 48 players around the world have set their base price of Rs 2 crore.

However, a few of them are either not in the best form or have lost their magic in the game. This makes it hard for them to get sold as the IPL teams pay the base price to those players who are worthy of it.

1) Ishant Sharma – INR 2 Crore

Ishant Sharma, who debuted way back in cricket in 2007, is known for his fast bowling. In the IPL, he played for six teams in his 13-year long journey.

It is reported that he has changed his sides every two years, drawing a negative impact on the value. In the last two seasons, he played only four matches. He is also inactive in the Indian team.

As a result, he may not be purchased in the mega auction.

2) Ambati Rayudu – INR 2 Crore

As Ambati Rayudu’s chance getting slimmer in the national squad, it is expected to be hard for him to get the desired price in IPL 2022.

Moreover, his age of 36 may play a negative role in the auction. So far, he played 12 editions for Mumbai Indian (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and scored 3916 runs.

3)Umesh Yadav – INR 2 Crore

Umesh Yadav has also asked for a base price of INR 2 crore. Yadav has played for DD (now DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

In recent years, he has been a little hot and cold. Moreover, he could not play a single match in the last season for Delhi Capitals. It may play against him at the auction.

4)Bhuvneshwar Kumar –INR 2 Crore

Bhuvndeshwar Kumar has been a  successful bowler in the IPL. He stands at the 8th spot in the list of most wickets taken in the tournament’s history.

However, his performances in recent times have gone down. It is most likely that he will be picked in the auction but getting the base price of 2 crore is a tough task.

At the age of 36, the teams may not purchase him at INR 1 crore.
