New Delhi: The full fixtures & schedule for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 was released on Friday Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The tournament will kick off in Australia from October 16 to November 13.
The opening match of the tournament will be between 2014 champions Sri Lanka and Namibia and will be held at Kardinia Park, Geelong. However, all eyes will be on the high-octane fight between arch-rivals India & Pakistan. The two teams have been clubbed together in Group 2 of the Super 12 stage and the clash will happen on October 23 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Group 2 features India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, and also the winner of Group B and runners-up in Group A from the first round.
The event will have the participation of 16 teams and a total of 45 matches will be played. Australia is hosting the men’s T20 world cup for the first time in history. The last time, they hosted the tournament was for a women’s event in February-March 2020.
India has been placed in Group 2 along with Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Group A runner-up, and Group B winner.
