New Delhi: ICC T20 World Cup 2022 matches are all set to begin from October 16 with the qualifier round matches. Sri Lanka and Namibia will take on each other in the opening game.
On October 22, the super 12 round will begin with the first match between Australia and New Zealand. However, the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 final will be played on November 13.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 host and venue is Australia. So all the matches will be played at different stadiums across Australia. Last year, Australia had defeated New Zealand in the T20 World Cup final.
On October 23, India will be playing their opening game against Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Stadium. During ICC T20 World Cup 2022, a total of 45 matches will take place and a total of 16 teams will be playing in the tournament.

India has won the T20 World Cup once after defeating Pakistan in the final of the inaugural edition in Johannesburg in 2007.

In the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 series there are 4 groups in the tournament.
Two teams in the qualifier round, groups- A and B. In the super 12 round, there are 2 groups- 1 and 2. In group A, there is Sri Lanka, Namibia, UAE, and Netherlands. In Group B, there is West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland, and Scotland.
Group-1 includes England, New Zealand, Australia, and Afghanistan.
Group 2, includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa.
Only after the qualifier round, 2 teams will be joining each group 1 and 2.
