New Delhi: The Women in Blue will look to bounce back strongly against the defending Asia Cup winners Sri Lanka in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
India women started their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on a disappointing note as they lost by 58 runs against New Zealand. They were bowled out for just 102 runs in the second innings as the Women in Blue faced difficulty against the opponents.
However, India brought their A game against their arch-rivals, the Pakistani women’s team. Team India defeated the Pakistani cricket team by 6 wickets to register the second win of the tournament. Naturally, Harmanpreet and her girls have a job in their hands i.e. to get a positive result in their next game against Sri Lanka.
How will the Dubai pitch behave in the India Women vs Sri Lanka Women’s match?
The pitch in the Dubai International Stadium has not been great for the batters. The pitch is slow and the boundaries are long. Naturally, scoring fours and sixes won’t be easy for any team.
If India bats first, the women in blue will target a score of around 130-140 runs given their batting dynamics. Meanwhile, if Sri Lanka bats first, they are likely to touch 120 or at max 130 provided they bat well. However, both teams will struggle if the top order fails to fire at the start of the innings.
