During the press conference, he clearly stated, “Everyone is fit and ready to play, including Jasprit Bumrah.” This will surely be a boost to India’s bowling attack as Bhuvneshwar Kumar can now go back to his role as a powerplay bowler and Bumrah and Harshal will be handling the death overs.

When asked about Harshal Patel going for runs in the first game, SKY answered, “Thoda injury se aaya hai, itna toh benefit banta hai (He is coming back after an injury, he deserves some benefit).” Backing up Harshal’s bag of tricks he said that It is difficult to read Harshal’s slower ball and playing him in nets he did not look predictable. He added that Harshal is deceptive and is working hard.

India’s new batting approach has been a topic for discussion for a long time now. Talking about the same he stated that everyone is playing their role and know their responsibility. Going back to the first game he said, “Everything went according to the plan, and we will try to do the same thing again and again in the future.” In the first T20I India posted a total of 208/6 after KL Rahul scored 55(35) and Suryakumar Yadav added 46 off 25 balls. Hardik Pandya ended the inning well with a smashing 71* off just 30 balls.

Talking about his own batting position, Suryakumar said that he is happy with batting at number 4 and added that he is ‘very flexible’ and plans for every situation. The flexibility can be seen in his back and his batting position as he has batted at every position from number 2 to 6 in international cricket.
