New Delhi: Shubman Gill continued his form and scored a century against Australia in the fourth Test match. Scoring boundaries this morning and showing patience in the second session proved to be a perfect tactic for the batter as he scored his second Test ton. He scored 101* in 194 balls and played the pitch, which is assisting the batters.
After a 74-run stand with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill had a strong 113-run partnership with Chetershwar Pujara to put India into a position with 188/2 at Tea and now India can get to a lead from here. He has scored 10 fours and one six by now, including sweeping the ball to the boundary to get to his century.
Gill showed a masterclass on how to bat on these retro-Indian pitches where teams can score above 350 easily. He has been in tremendous form and is carrying the confidence of a T20I century and the ODI double ton in Test cricket also.
He got a lot of runs by flicking the ball to the on side as he played Mitchell Strac and the off-spinners. There were rare moments when he got beaten by the ball, otherwise, he looked in control of his game.
The same over, however, ended with Chetershwar Pujara’s wicket, who played a steady knock of 42 in 121 deliveries. He was up to a classic Pujara knock where he went slow but scored big, however, Todd Murphy got him lbw just in time. The ball skidded and missed the edge to go onto the pads. Pujara reviewed, but in vain.

India started the morning well and was able to muster runs, while Rohit Sharma handed a catch to Labuschagne at extra short cover off Matthew Kuhnemann. Sharma got out for 35 off 58, while a bigger inning was expected from India’s captain.
