IND vs SA T20 World Cup: Indian fans begin meme fest as Pakistan’s campaign almost ends

While some fans were upset due to the defeat, Bharat Army and some fans in the stadium at Perth said goodbye to Pakistan.

New Delhi: India’s loss against South Africa in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has made the path narrower for Pakistan. For Pakistan to stay in the race for the semis, India was required to win against the Proteas. The neighbours can still qualify on paper, but the practical chances look bleak.

In the game, Virat Kohli dropped an easy catch while Rohit Sharma missed a runout chance. However, this has led Indian fans to cheer as a meme fest began on Twitter. Netizens took it as beating Pakistan twice in the tournament.

While some fans were upset due to the defeat, Bharat Army and some fans in the stadium at Perth said goodbye to Pakistan.

Ashwin missed running out the non-striker and here is what netizens have to say.

When Kohli dropped the catch, some were shocked while some called it acting.

After a stunning spell from Lungi Ngidi, India’s top order failed to acclimate to Perth’s bounce.  Starting with a maiden over, Wayne Parnell picked wickets in the death. Ngidi’s 4-wicket haul and Parnell picking three halted India’s efforts at 133/9. The only batter who looked comfortable in the Indian lineup was Suryakumar Yadav. SKY scored a brilliant 68 off 40 balls to take his side to a respectable total.

Using the swing, Arshdeep Singh dismissed both Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw in the second over. After a poor start, Aiden Markram and David Miller tried to get things back on track. After the 10th over, they decided to shift the gears and managed to chase the score with two balls remaining. Miller scored a fantastic 59* off 46 while Markram scored 52 off 41 deliveries.

After this game, South Africa stands at the top of the table in Group 2, while India is in the second position. To qualify, Pakistan needs to win both the games against Bangladesh and South Africa, while they will need India to lose against Zimbabwe.
