New Delhi: After a long wait India has finally announced the full squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour which starts from the end of July. Suryakumar Yadav who is ranked no.2 in the ICC rankings has been named as the captain of the T20I side while Rohit Sharma returns to the side for the ODI series.
Shubhman Gill who led the side to Zimbabwe recently has been made the vice-captain in both ODI and T20I squads. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya who was doubtful for the upcoming series for “personal reasons” has made a ‘wild card’ entry into the T20I squad. There are certain misses as well which were expected to feature on the travelling caravan of India.

The foremost names that will grab the headlines are the names of Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad who have been pretty impressive in Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, the T20 World Cup winners Rishab Pant, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel are all coming back into the squad after their triumph in Barbados.
