What is the new U19 World Cup format?
According to the new ICC format for the U19 World Cup, 16 teams were divided into four groups of four in the first round.
The top three teams from each group will then form two groups of six in the Super Six round, with teams of Group A and Group D forming Group 1 of Super Six, while Group B and Group D will form Group 2 of Super Six.
The top two teams from Groups 1 and 2 will then qualify for the semifinals, whose winners will then meet in the finals to crown the ultimate champions.
Notably, teams will not play against the same position-finishing team from the other group in the Super Six, as India and Pakistan, who finished the top of their respective group, will only play the other two teams from the opposing group.
