New Delhi: India will be taking on Canada in a rain-laden match at the Lauderhill stadium in Florida. Apart from the bad weather that India has to battle, Team India’s growing concern is the patchy form of Virat Kohli. In the three matches that Kohli has played, the 35-year-old has failed to get promising starts against Ireland, the USA and even Pakistan.

Kohli’s form against Pakistan has been the tip of the iceberg for the Indian camp which could have pushed the “panic“. The 35-year-old has always been one of the highest run-getters against his arch-rivals. Against Pakistan, Kohli’s performance has been so good that whenever the two sides have met, the former has always come out on top.

Kohli to be dropped ahead of the Canada game!
Kohli’s highest contribution to the team’s scoreboard has been 4 runs which came against Pakistan. Against Canada, it will be a perfect opportunity for Kohli to get some priceless runs. However, as it turns out, there are rumours that Kohli might be dropped from the Playing XI.

But, so far those are only backroom chatters. India has already qualified for the Super 8s on the back of back-to-back wins against Ireland, the USA and Pakistan. The Super 8 matches are all scheduled to take place in West Indies where the pitch is going to be rack turners. Naturally, Kohli who is a better player of spin will need to step up and shoulder the responsibility to see his side through to the semis and even finals (hopefully)!

In any case, if there is a change of plans from Dravid and Co., and Kohli is benched for reasons other than his poor form, left-hand opener Yashaswi Jaiswal might get a nod from Rahul. On the other hand, there is also a chance that there can be a little tinkering in the bowling department as well with Kuldeep Yadav getting a chance as well as Sanju Samson.
