India vs New Zealand Test Series 2024: Top 5 Lowest Test Scores for Team India at Home

India registered the lowest score of 46 against New Zealand to set the lowest score set in the Indian subcontinent.

New Delhi: Indian fortunes at Test cricket have changed dramatically over the course of one week. The men in blue dished out a thumping 2-0 series to the Bangladeshi team. Now, the team is bowled out for 46 on Day 2 of the first Test of a three-match series. India in the process also registered the lowest score at home against any opposition. It was also the lowest team total in the subcontinent overtaking the previous score of 53 set by West Indies against Pakistan at Faisalabad in 1986.

Batting wise it was a total disaster out there in the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. There were as many as five ducks in the Indian innings. Virat Kohli, who was surprisingly asked to bat at No. 3, Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and R Ashwin were the batters who did not trouble the scorers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday.

Former cricketer and spinner Anil Kumble was ‘deeply worried’ about the situation that unfolded in Bengaluru and remarked in the post-match conference that-

It’s important that you need to adapt. There’s talk about getting wins. Yes, the bowling attack is fantastic. But the batters, you need to think about how to manage in these conditions for India to get to a better situation…

Tactically it was a blunder to win the toss and opting to bat first under overcast conditions.
