Team India on verge of breaking Pakistan’s all-time T20 record in 3rd T20I against Australia

India will be going up against Australia in Guwahati to take the unassailable lead in the series.

New Delhi: The Indian cricket team coming out of the horrors of the ICC World Cup 2023, finals and has started their preparation for the 2024 T20I World Cup in the USA and West Indies, in a dominant fashion against the Aussies.

India has defeated the Aussies in the first two T20Is of the series already and has managed to get a comfortable 2-0 lead in the 5-match series.

Interestingly, when the men in blue defeated the Australian team in the second T20I, in Thiruvananthapuram, on Sunday, they equaled Pakistan’s record for most wins in T20Is by recording their 135th T20I victory.

Indian team have played 211 T20Is to reach the record number, which is 15 less than Pakistan’s 226 matches, and if the men in blue manage to win the third T20i on Tuesday, they will register their 136th T20I win, making them the most successful T20I team of all time.

India as the favourites

Surya Kumar Yadav-led team India will be walking into the match as the clear favourites as they have been nothing but outstanding throughout the series, outperforming the Aussies in all three departments, giving themselves a comfortable 2-0 lead in the series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan in the top-order and Surya Kumar Yadav, Rinku Singh and Tilak Varma in the middle, the men in blue’s batting line-up looks stronger than ever, and if they can replicate their performance of the first T20Is again on Tuesday, they will on their way out of the city with an unassailable lead in the series and a world record under their belt.


However, this will not be as easy as it looks, as they still have to go through the resilient Aussies, who have proven time after time, what they are capable of when their shoulders are pinned to the walls, and with the players like Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Josh Inglish and Travis Head at their disposal, the mighty Aussies will be all but ready to make yet another dramatic, turn-around in the series.
