INDW vs ENGW, T20I Series: The women in blue will battle for pride in the last match

England women already have an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series.

New Delhi: Fans had high hopes for the Indian women’s cricket team against the English team after their triumphed run at the Asian Games 2023.

Indian women’s team has been dominated by the English side, in the series so far, after being outmatched in all three departments.

England women’s team won the first match by 38 runs and by 4 wickets in the second match.

In the first match, it was the Indian bowling unit that was disappointed by allowing the English side to reach a total of 197.

However, in the second match, it was the batting unit that let their fans down by getting dismissed on a small total of 80.

India, who has already lost the series, would want to register a win in the final match of the series to get something out of it and get much-needed momentum heading into the test match against the same side from December 14.

Batters have to step up

Indian batters have to step up and play long innings if they want to win the last match. So far, they have had a nightmare run with the batting, as except for Shafali Verma in the first match, and Jemimah Rodrigues in the second match, no other batter has looked in form.

Batters like Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma need to take the responsibilities on their shoulders and neutralize the threat of bowlers like Charlotte Dean, Lauren Bell and Sarah Glenn.

Bowlers needs consistency

Indian bowlers, although they showed fighting spirit in the second match and dismissed six English batters in their 81-run chase, need to be more consistent with their line and length, as well as their intent.

Senior bowlers like Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh have to lead their respective departments from the front to allow the young players to get a little more comfortable in the game.
