
New Delhi: TATA IPL 2022 was full of glitz and glamour. This year’s season came to an end on Sunday with a historical moment. The largest cricket jersey was introduced in the closing ceremony of IPL which entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Last night, Gujarat Titans locked horns with Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where a giant jersey was put on display. The host and former coach of the India team announced it to be the largest cricket jersey in the world, measuring 66×44 metres.

The jersey had the number 15 printed on it, symbolising the 15th edition of the IPL season. It also had logos of 10 teams that played this season namely Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, and Delhi Capitals. These teams competed from March 26 to May 29.
Reportedly, the Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest stadium in the world with a capacity of accommodating 132,000 spectators.
In the finale, the newcomer, Gujarat Titans lifted the trophy of this season beating Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals were handed a hefty amount of Rs 12.5 crore for completing as the runner-up of this season while the champions Gujarat Titans received Rs 20 crore.
