New Delhi: With Mahendra Singh Dhoni transferring the mantle to Ravindra Jadeja, the latter is likely to step into Mahi shoes and lead his first match against the formidable rivals Kolkata Knightriders.
As the Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2022 gets ready for rollout from March 26, it will be Jadeja’s CSK and Shah Rukh Khan owned Kolkata Knightriders (KKR) locking horns in the first match of the tournament.
The high-stakes match will be played at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
Chennai Superkings are the defending champions of IPL. And, the KKR is no less as they have also won the IPL title a couple of times. CSK however has lifted the IPL title for maximum time, ever since the IPL tournament kicked off in 2007.
Dhoni has been phenomenal in putting CSK at the top of IPL charts, year after year. As his departure from captaincy comes as a heartbreak, it will also be big challenge for Jadeja while taking over the mantle from him.
What Jadeja shared before 1st match
The CSK team has already arrived in Mumbai for its maiden match of the IPL 2022. Before arrival in Mumbai, the CSK men underwent pre-season training in Surat. And, while the team wrapped up training session, Ravindra Jadeja shared a special message to Gujarati fans. It can be seen in the video shared on the social by CSK franchise.
