IPL 2023: Kedar Jadhav lands from commentary to field as batter replaces injured David Willey in RCB

The English all-rounder David Willey played four games 35 runs and picked up three wickets. The details about his injury have not been disclosed yet.

New Delhi: Indian batting all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has replaced the injured David Willey in the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s squad for the remainder of the IPL 2023. This will be Jadhav’s second stint with RCB while he played the 2021 season with Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 38-year-old was in the commentary box for Marathi commentary for Jio Cinema and he will get on the ground now.

RCB shared the news on Twitter welcoming back Kedar Jadhav and also shared the pictures from the 2016-17 season when he played for the franchise.

Kedar has represented multiple franchises including Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Playing in a total of 93 matches, the batter has scored 1196 runs in IPL.

During his last IPL auctions, he was picked by SRH for Rs 1 crore, while he went unsold in the next seasons.

Jadhav has represented India in nine T20Is and has scored 122 runs in six innings, including a fifty. He was one of the regulars in the ODI team where he played 73 games, scoring 1389 runs, including two centuries and six fifties, and picked up 27 wickets.

Jadhav was playing in the domestic circuit for Maharashtra and in T20s, scored a half-century each against Puducherry and Odisha. Making his comeback to first-class cricket, he scored a double century against Assam and a century against Mumbai in Ranji Trophy.

RCB will next face Lucknow Super Giants on May 1 at 7:30 pm in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.
