New Delhi: Gujarat Titans beat Mumbai Indians by 55 runs after an all-round performance by the team. The batters struck their way through to score 207 and the bowling unit picked wickets to restrict MI to 152. After the game, Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan had a candid chat presenting their secret to success in the T20 format.
Shami asked Rashid about his feeling when the game began, to which the Afghan spinner replied that he felt good after the batters gave a great start to the team. Rashid also gave credit to Shami and Hardik Pandya for restricting runs in the powerplay. The pacer asked Rashid about his plan while bowling during dew and the leg spinner said that he had a chat with Noor Ahmad and they decided that Mumbai Indians require a huge run rate so they will bowl to their lengths and let the batters make mistakes.

Rashid said that the way Shami started with the new ball, it felt like the conditions have changed and the pacer said that it is important to begin the game with the right line and lengths and have a good rhythm. Giving a message to youngsters, Shami urged them to focus on their fitness and asked them not to overthink but rather bowl at good lines and lengths in all formats.
In the game, Rashid Khan picked up two wickets, giving just 27 runs and with this, he is currently the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2023. Mohammed Shami went wicketless but gave just 18 runs in his quota of four overs.
Shubman Gill gave a good start to the Titans and scored 56 off 34 while David Miller and Abhinav Manohar made crucial contributions lower down the order with their 46 off 22 and 42 off 21 respectively. Rahul Tewatia gave a great finish to GT as he hit three sixes and scored 20* off 5.
Noor Ahmed picked three wickets for GT while Mohit Sharma got two scalps in the death overs to end things well for GT. Nehal Wadhera scored 40 off 21 while Suryakumar Yadav hit 23 off 12 but in vain. Manohar was named the Player of the Match for his impactful knock.
