IPL 2023 SRH vs LSG: Fifty by Prerak Mankad, Pooran’s 44* off 13 powers Super Giants to 7-wicket win

New Delhi: Prerak Mankad accelerated in the end to hit a cracking fifty and Nicholas Pooran fired maximums to chase 183 after a slow start. Mankad scored 64* off 45 and Pooran played a cameo of 44* off just 13 deliveries, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes. Marcus Stoinis contributed 40 off 25 to help accelerate and bring the target within reach.

Abhishek Sharma got hit for five sixes in the 16th over, and giving 31 runs changed the game in LSG’s favour with the equation coming down to 38 off 24.

Kyle Mayers began the inning with 2(14) and LSG stood at 30/1 at the end of the powerplay. Quinton de Kock gave a boost and scored 29 off 19 after which Mankad and Stoinis had a 73-run stand to stabilise the inning.

Glenn Phillips bowled with the new ball along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Fazalhaq Farooqi and was successful in dismissing Mayers as SRH skipper Aiden Markram took a stunner. While Mayank Markande and Abhishek Sharma picked a wicket each, they went for boundaries and the game slipped out of Sunrisers’ hands.

The credit goes to Player of the Match Prerak Mankad for building the inning and Pooran for his explosive cameo as he unleashed the beast he is known for.

In the first inning, Abhishek got out to Yudhvir Singh early and it was Anmolpreet Singh and Rahul Tripathi who scored 36(27) and 20(13) respectively to set the stage for a good total. When SRH was going at a great pace, LSG skipper Krunal Pandya dismissed Markram and Phillips on consecutive deliveries to bring back his team into the game.

Henrick Klaasen scored 47 off 29 and Abdul Samad fired 37* off 25 to take SRH to 182/6.
