All the teams have been asked to submit their final player’s retention list by November 26, evening 4:00 p.m. IST. However, he decided to leave the team in 2021, to take on the duties of captain in the newly introduced Gujrat Titans franchise. Under his captaincy Gujrat played back-to-back finals and even managed to win their first title in their first season in the tournament, before losing their second finals against CSK. Initially, it was rumoured that he would be part of a direct player swap with either Rohit Sharma or Jofra Archer being involved, but according to the latest reports, Gujrat will be taking RS 15 crore in cash in a one-sided deal. However, since none of the involved parties has given any actual updates on these rumours, which means the fans have to wait till Sunday evening to get the final confirmation.
