New Delhi: One of the mainstays of KKR’s success in this year’s IPL has been assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. Nayar and Gautam Gambhir have been the architects of KKR’s phenomenal success this year. Abhishek who has been a part of the Knights family from way back in 2018 deserves plaudits for his perseverance after seeing back-to-back season failures in 2022 and 2023.

Speaking about Abhishek, KKR’s new-found talents Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakravarty have remarked, “All I can think of right now is the person who built this Indian core. The main guy behind this is Abhishek Nayar.”

Apart from being the assistant coach, Nayar has also been tasked with the KKR academy. The ever-observant eyes of Nayar managed to spot a child prodigy from this academy, Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Nayar has been one of the people who has been part of Raghuvanshi’s remarkable journey.
Thanking Abhishek Nayar, Angkrish’s father Avneesh has written the immense impact that the Mumbaikar has on the young boy’s cricketing dreams. He wrote, “….Your first words to us were “I want to make Angkrish a good human..” seems like a plan on track.”

“…Kitna hota hai?….“- Nayar breaks silence on uneasy topics
Nayar’s success in KKR’s triumph was supplanted by the online social media chatter which started from his interview in a podcast conducted by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. After a successful podcast and one-on-one interaction, things became a little slippery when things related to sex were discussed which has been long considered a taboo.

Anticipating the gravity of the question and the longstanding taboos around sex, Nayar addressed the question calmly. “Are you asking this in a positive way or negative way? You have asked a very open-ended question...” Furthermore, Nayar said that the question of sex is all about personal choices and it depends on person to person. There is no right or wrong in it and thereby every taboos around the same should be shaken off.
