“I’ve come here as a commoner…”- Subhashish Bose

Speaking about the protest when Subhashish said, “I’ve come here as a commoner. Justice is needed to ensure that this incident is never repeated. The culprits should receive proper punishment. We will continue our protests until justice is served.”

Furthermore, Subhashish Bose also commented on the fact that it was wonderful seeing the city unite against such a heinous crime as well as the lackadaisical attitude that the state government has shown. Although Bose wanted to play in the derbies, he said that the incident is much more important than mere derbies.

As the ‘Durand Derby’ stands cancelled in the ongoing edition, things looks grim in Kolkata. However, the two sides will continue their journey in the Durand Cup.

What does this mean for both teams?

If the match stands cancelled, what does it mean for both teams? According to the points table, East Bengal will qualify for the knockouts as the top 2. East Bengal will be the second team in Group A of the Durand Cup with 7 points from 3 matches.

On the other hand, Mohun Bagan will qualify as the group toppers from Group A based on Goal Difference with East Bengal.
