New Delhi: Hash tag Khalistani started trending on social media following India losing to Pakistan in the Super Four clash at the ongoing Asia Cup on Sunday.
This happened when a young pacer Arshdeep Singh, dropped a crucial catch in the 18th over of the match.
Pakistan who was chasiing182-run target, Pakistan were 148/4 at the start of the 17th over.
It was on the third ball of Ravi Bishnoi’s over, when Asif Ali edged the ball high in the air and young player Arshdeep dropped a sitter.
As he dropped the catch, left a furious Rohit Sharma screaming at him.
However, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said that anyone can make mistakes under pressure. It is natural to feel bad. He further said that the team environment is great and the credit goes to the management and captain.
Here is how Twitter users reacted:
Pathetic Tweet. How could you say Khalistani or Ghaddar to someone and put someone’s life in danger. Don’t be out of control and it happens in pressure game. #Khalistani #arshdeepsingh https://t.co/L6XKr3Khvn

Thank God Avesh Khan wasn’t part of the team otherwise Indian fans would have sought the only refuge in targeting him being a Muslim like they did in case of Shami, same is happening with that young sikh bowler associating him with #khalistani#arshdeepsingh

Calling #ArshdeepSingh a #Khalistani was a pure Pak creation. A simple study will show it was part of the information warfare unleashed against India. Sad to find our own people propagating the same among Sikhs, look at the similarity in the plate used on both sides of the border pic.twitter.com/42wtEGrXjd

I stand with Arshdeep Singh. The dropping of catch is normal but calling a national team player a #khalistani is intentional. I condemn it.
This shows the real face of India. How they treat when something is not in their interest?#khalistani pic.twitter.com/7xri7xttUY— Huzaifa Mustafa (@huzaifamustafa_) September 5, 2022
