Leading after the first game, the Malaysian shuttler came back strongly in the last two games to win the game 21-13, 16-21 & 11-21. Nevertheless, this time odds were against Sen as the Indian shuttler was injured in the right arm going into the second and third sets. A white padding was seen wrapped around Sen's right arm as he struggled throughout the second half of the match. The difference between the two shuttlers became even more prominent when the Indian shuttler was trailing 9-3 in the last set. Subsequently, Lakshya tried to force his way into the game.
