New Delhi: Legends League Cricket, season 2, has begun its second leg in a blockbuster manner.
The Day 6 of the 22 days’ tournament, featured the first match of their second leg when Harbhajan Singh-led Manipal Tigers took on the Irfan Pathan-led Bhilwara Kings in match number 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun.
Bhilwara Kings skipper Irfan Pathan won the toss and opted to bat first.
However, Irfan soon regretted his decision as Manipal Tigers’ openers led by Robin Uthappa (51), added 87 runs for the first wicket in just 8.4 overs.
Playing second fiddle to Robin Uthappa, Chadwick Walton (104) took on the active role after his partner’s departure and scored the first century of the Legends League Cricket season 2, and along with Hamilton Masakadza (37*) added 120 runs for the second wicket, taking the final total of Manipal Tigers to 211 for 3 in 20 overs.
Christopher Barnwell was the most successful bowler for Bhilwara Kings with 2 wickets under his name. Spinner Rahul Sharma also picked up 1 wicket.
In reply, Bhilwara Kings’ chase never really kicked off as they lost their first 4 wickets by 43 runs mark, and except Tilakratne Dilshan (26), no other batsmen crossed the 20 runs mark.
Bhilwara Kings after the end of 20 over only managed to reach 122 for the loss of 8 wickets, giving the Manipal Tigers a huge 89 runs victory.

Imran Khan was the pick of the day with 3 wickets under his name. Parvinder Awana took 2, while Mitchell McClenaghan, Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Gupta took one wicket each.
Manipal Tigers with this win climbs to the points table due to superior net run rate over the Urbanrisers Hyderabad.
Bhilwara Kings on the other hand, now has to win all their remaining matches to qualify for the next round.
