
New Delhi: The second season of Legends League Cricket, has finally come to an end, as the Manipal Tigers lift the trophy after an intense final with the Urbanrisers Hyderabad.
The final was played on Saturday, at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium in Surat, between Manipal Tigers and Urbanrisers Hyderabad.

Manipal Tigers skipper Harbhajan Singh won the toss and invited the Urbanrisers Hyderabad to bat first.
Urbanrisers’ start was not great as they lost Martin Guptil (0), and Dwayne Smith (21) early in the match.
Rikki Clarke (80*) and Gurkeerat Singh added 122 runs for the third wicket, to revive the Urbanrisers’ innings, but the Tigers dealt some late blows to stop the Urbanrisers’ innings to 187 for 5 in 20 overs.

Pankaj Singh was the pick of the bowlers for the Tigers, with two wickets under his belt. Mitchell McClenaghan and Thisara Perera also took one wicket each.
In reply, the Tigers got a good start with Robin Uthappa (40) and Chadwick Walton (29), who added 71 runs for the first wicket in just 42 deliveries.
Urbanrisers pulled the match back with three quick wickets, reducing the Tigers’ score to 80 for 3.
However, Asela Gunaratne (51*), first with Angelo Perera (30) and then with Thisara Perera (25), stitched two good partnerships to take the Manipal Tigers over the line with 5 wickets and 6 balls to spare and became the new champions of Legends League Cricket.

Stuart Binny was the most successful bowler for the Urbanrisers, with three wickets under his belt. Shadab Jakati and Jerome Taylor also got one wicket each.
