The Russian News Agency TASS quoted Andrei Filatov asking the International Chess Federation to open a probe and investigate the result. Filatov said

The result of the last game caused bewilderment among professionals and chess fans. The actions of the Chinese chess player in the decisive segment are extremely suspicious and require a separate investigation by FIDE…


Furthermore, he added:

Losing the position in which Ding Liren was is difficult even for a first-class player. The defeat of the Chinese chess player in today’s game raises a lot of questions and looks like a deliberate one…

How much has the World Chess Championship accrued monetarily to D Gukesh?

The 2024 World Chess Championship has a total prize money pool of $2.5 million. As per FIDE’s rules, a player will be awarded $200,000 (Rs 1.68 crore approximately) for every win and the remaining prize money will be split equally.


Gukesh won three games (Games 3, 11, and 14), earning $600,000 (Rs 5.04 crore approximately) just from the victories while Ding earned $400,000 (Rs 3.36 crore) after winning Games 1 and 12.

The remaining $1.5 million will be split equally between the two players. Overall, Gukesh won $1.35 million (Rs 11.34 crore approximately) while Ding won $ 1.15 million (Rs 9.66 crore approximately).
