The Portuguese footballer has been offered a two-year deal with the Saudi club on a salary worth £2.24million a week, which means he will receive a salary of £233million over the course of the contract. Ronaldo is said to have made up his mind to reject the offer as he wishes to play in the Champions League next season. Playing Champions League was reported to be the primary reason why the Man U forward wanted to leave the club as United failed to qualify for Champions Leagues 2022-23. The club that offered the deal is part of the Saudi Pro League.

Chelsea was reportedly interested in cracking a deal with Man U for the 37-year-old forward. However, the Blues have distanced themselves from the deal and have signed Raheem Sterling from Manchester City as their marquee player instead. Football fans are also expecting Bayern Munich to make a move forward to sign a deal with Manchester United.

As the issues between Ronaldo and his club continue, the player has not joined Man U for the pre-season tour to Melbourne, Australia. The club officials have granted him a leave of absence.

The 6-times Ballon d’Or winners scored 24 goals last season but United finished sixth. This means that the club will be playing in the Europa League next season as it could not qualify for the Champions League.
