New Delhi: Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling has been finally transferred to Chelsea. The Blues had Sterling as one of their top targets this summer. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Raheem Sterling was the first priority for Chelsea, even ahead of Manchester United’s star forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 27-year-old has agreed on personal terms to be part of his new club. He will be with Chelsea on a five-year contract with an option of extension for 12 months. Sterling believes he is in the decisive phase of his career and wants to make a significant contribution on and off the pitch. The footballer will join Chelsea for an initial £47.5 million fee, with a further £2.5m in potential add-ons.

Chelsea was eyeing Sterling to be their marquee player. According to reports, the club was seeking at least two of the three marquee players namely, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele. With Sterling entering Chelsea, the club will be looking to buy at least one out of Dembele and Ronaldo. Moreover, according to some reports, Ronaldo himself said that he wants to leave Manchester United.

In the last season at Premiere League, Sterling scored 13 goals and made 5 assists in 30 games. He has won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and three League Cups with Manchester City. Raheem Sterling has scored a total of 131 goals in 339 appearances for the reigning Premier League champions.

Raheem Sterling and Chelsea fans are pouring their excitement on Twitter.

The owner of West London Film Studios, Frank Khalid, who is a Chelsea fan, wrote that Sterling is perfect for the club.
