Manu Bhaker Wins Bronze Medal at the 10m Pistol Shooting in Paris Olympics 2024

Manu Bhaker won the first Bronze medal in the finals of the 10 m Individual Women Pistol Paris Olympics 2024.

New Delhi: 22-year-old Manu Bhaker scripted history as she went toe-to-toe as she won the bronze medal against South Korean shooters Oh Ye Jin and Kim Yeji. Bhaker’s medal ended a 12-year drought of India in the shooting events at the Olympics.

The girl who was on the verge of giving up on shooting in Tokyo to hold a kettle to stabilize her arm; it has been a long journey for Manu Bhaker in her quest to win the medal. “That was the time when I was like, ‘I am getting restless, I really need to get back’.” Little Manu can now hold her head high as she becomes the first athlete to win a medal in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Bhaker held on till the end and eventually became the first Indian to win a medal in shooting. At one point in time, it looked like Bhaker was on the verge of winning the silver medal. However, Oh Ye Jin came from the back to claim her place. The Koreans eventually ended with a 1&2 position.


On the other hand, Arjun Babuta and Ramita Jindal have also increased the hopes of a medal by qualifying for the Men’s and Women’s 10m Air Rifle finals.
