New Delhi: Pakistan’s pacer Haris Rauf opened up about his mindset and plan for the India-Pakistan clash in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. He said he is confident and has already started planning for the game. After the fifth T20I against England, Haris spoke about facing India at the MCG, his ‘home ground’.
The pacer said that the India-Pakistan games are always high-pressure matches and accepted that he was under pressure in the last T20 World Cup. He added that during the previous two games in the Asia Cup, he did not feel that pressure.
Rauf said, “If I give my best, they won’t be able to play me easily. For the upcoming World Cup match, I’m very happy because it is at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.” MCG is Rauf’s home ground as he plays for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. He added, “I’ve already started planning of how I would bowl against India.”
His message came as a warning to the team India as Haris Rauf made it difficult for the Indian batters to hit the ball in the Asia Cup. In the upcoming World Cup, he will be the one taking charge of the pace attack along with Shaheen Shah Afridi, as Naseem Shah is admitted to a hospital after catching pneumonia. Rauf has been doing consistently well and he took 8 wickets in five matches against England, to help Pakistan to lead the seven-match T20I series with a margin of 3-2.
